As you all may know i've been gone quite a while. Have a daughter and am taking care of her, and had moved away from the minecraft scene for a while (though i hadnt actually wanted to) If you all decide to stick with the new servers you have found it's totally fine. I figured I'd stop in and let you know that I no longer host it on my own computer (until i get my server tower built) However I've recently paid to have a server hosted by a well respected hosting company.
I run Industrial Craft/BuildCraft/RedPower/Essentials/Multiverse on the server, and without the right mods installed you won't be able to play on it. It's also whitelisted. Over the next several days I'll be checking back here to see if anyone has requested help with getting the right mods and getting whitelisted. It's only a 20 slot server but i have it for 3 months while i decide if I'm going to continue to pay for it or not. Feel free to send me a message if you'd like to join up. Note i won't check threads for requests, Please message me directly if you'd like me to whitelist you. Also be ready to teamviewer, as its the Fastest most efficient way to setup the proper mods (Me sending you my files through file transfer) Usually only takes around 20 minutes to complete. I look forward to seeing old friends again ^_^

Server IP is subject to change, if you cant log in, check to make sure this hasn't updated.

This is just a suggestion. There is a service you can use for free that gives you a static ip to use. You just download the client and set it up. If you are interested :
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Maybe this would prevent the possibility of having to change the server ip, making it easier on the admins, and the players alike. Smile

It still is run off of your machine, that doesn't change. You download the client and customize the settings to your liking. There aren't really a lot of settings. It pretty much just gives you a static ip that you can run from your computer, it also protects your ip from would be hackers who know how to hack people's computers with their ip address, if there is such a thing possible. lolz xD But I posted the website address, you can click on it and check it out if you want to.

sry hard to read the small text so i used large text to see how it does. I think i should have specified better, i mean does it reserve an external ip or an internal ip, because i set up a DHCP client to reserver 192.168.0.10 which SHOULD also reserve the external ip that goes with it but i have no way to test that theory. so do you know specifically if it reservers the internal ip or the external ip of the computer running the client.

It doesn't use the IP of the computer it gives one, but it is external.
